“Network Technician In Training”

Tuesday, January 22, 2008 - 2 Responses

As you can tell by the title of this post I am probably going to be talking about networking and particularly about the job that I am undertaking in shop. First off, I am pretty sure that I want to be a “Network Technician”. Theres a small description of it at that website. In school they have me working on making Ethernet cables. Ethernet cable is a wire that connects computers to each other and the internet. We are getting all new computers and it appears that I am basically responsible, with help from my classmates of course, for wiring the room for the new computers and setting up the network. I am so excited as students are not normally included in large shop projects. Enough rambling though, more on my day.

Shop was enjoyable mainly because I got to work on wiring the room which made me happy. Along with the wiring I had fun today in general with my classmates, there wasn’t to much fighting and I could just basically chill while doing what I love, Networking. Also, Sarorn brought in spice for Megan, he has no idea how much that means to me. Thanks Man.

After school Megan was hanging out with Felicia and Richiid so I went home and worked on computer stuff for school. I think the people in shop are going to be happy. =] Thats basically all I did, kinda boring day but I enjoyed the fact that I have decided what I want to be.

A “Network Technician”

Could it get any colder in here?

Well, This is my first post in a long time. I have been kinda unhappy recently and not to up to talking on here about it, but I feel better and why  not give it a try anyways.

Today was a good day, I got a lot of gaming in because I started playing Counter Strike Source again, man I missed that game… After a bit of gaming Megan came over which made my day exponentially better. It just went perfect, no problems. I am proud of my self, cause recently although I have been unhappy with how I treat her I have been doing EXACTLY what I didn’t want to do, which sucks! I know exactly how I want to treat her but my body and mind does the opposite…. WHY? =[

In other news, I have to fix Sarorns computer tomorrow. I don’t know exactly what I am going to need to do so I am bringing a lot of my computer shit. Who knows what the problem will be… He said it has been running slow and that the second hard drive is corrupted… We will figure it out.

Also, I want to bring Sarorn to a Sad Cafe ska night. He enjoys J-Ska so I know he will have a good time with the friendly atmosphere. We just have to convince his parents to let him go! We can do it though, because the sad cafe is a family friendly place which accepts all!

PLUS  I want to go to a techno concert, like a large one, not some small club ecstacy hangout. Like a huge 20,000 person audience with the DJ just blasting tunes all night. I want to dance all night to techno music. Amazing. I am going to look for one on ticketmaster and if I find one and you are interested tell me.

Well, that’s all I have to say. Bye!

Those were James Dean’s last words before his Porsche slammed into another car. I connect very closely with his last words. Although I am not sure why, I will reveal it later if I find out exactly why.

I am reading Looking for Alaska still and it is absolutely amazing. John’s writing is just so brilliant. I need more books, more to read, more to learn, and most of all more to enjoy. Ive decided the next book I am buying is “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” which seems to continue on the Young Adult reading I have so recently enjoyed. An even further sub-genre of Young Adult is teen issues which I seem to enjoy a lot also.

I am slowly getting my self back to normal and I will be writing soon.
Love you all, Andrew.

Fixing cracks in the wall of life…

This weekend was very very poor, and that is an understatement. I think this has possibly been one of the worst weekends ever. I didn’t enjoy the weekend NOT because of my plans or anyone elses, but because of my own problems with handling myself. I have come to realize a lot of things, just as Sarorn has come to learn a lot about him self. I am an honestly difficult, clingy, over-protective person. I make everything very very hard for no apparent reason. I do not cherish the time with my girlfriend as I should, and I disrespect my family and the little amount of friends I have left. I don’t want to dwell on this as most of you probably don’t want to hear it anyways. Now back to the normal Andrew.

Today I was not expecting to see Megan as she had plans to go out with Felicia and Richiid, but I ended up seeing her around 12:45. She was online talking to me and asked me to come skate with her at her house so I did. I enjoyed it so very much even though we just kind of walked around and talked. It’s really nice to talk about anything and everything with the people you care about. Try it sometime. After that Megan had to go so I headed home to do whatever. Before all this happened though, I went up to borders and bought John Green’s first novel “Looking for Alaska” I started reading it today and I am enjoying this one just as much as his second book. It was only $8 in the store but I got it for $6 with a coupon. Sarorn I am going to have a head start on reading it because you are so fast at reading.

Well I guess I have nothing more to say, Talk to you tomorrow!

Completion and Depletion

Friday, January 11, 2008 - 2 Responses

Today was an okay day in shop but I keep getting headaches after lunch this week. This one lasted all through my afternoon and made it hard to enjoy my time with Megan and entertain her. I still did enjoy it, just not to the amount that I could have. Other than that I finished “An Abundance of Katherine’s” today. The book was absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to any nerd, teenager, or person who has experienced what it is like to want to matter. Along with anyone who enjoys math, quirkiness, or anagrams.

I am really really proud of my self for finishing that book so quickly. I picked it up Sunday and I was done by today. That is the fastest I have ever read a book before. Reading just has never kept my attention although this book begs to change my outlook on reading and my actual reading ability. Now that I have finished I can discuss the book with Sarorn which should be fun. I have never really FULLY grasped a book like this one. I remember a lot about the story which also normally doesn’t happen. Very few books have caught my attention but this is definitely one of them. Since John has captured me so much in “An Abundance of Katherine’s” I have decided to buy his first novel “Looking For Alaska”. I have read that it is just as good if not better than his first book. If any of you want to borrow “An Abundance of Katherine’s” just let me know in a comment and if you promise to keep the book well kept, I will let you borrow it.

Class week is coming up, but I have two things to look forward to. Firstly, my math teacher is supposed to be out for up to 6 weeks which is amazing. Secondly we have a half day on Wednesday. Half days are kind of a win-lose situation for me because getting out early is great but it gives a false feeling of “weekend” which is bad when I realize I still have two more days of class week left. Either way it’s a pretty good deal.

I hope you enjoyed what I have to say, Talk to you guys tomorrow!

I am currently in shop as I am writing this. I have down time as teachers keep walking through the room and when they are in the room we have to shut off the games. Learning is very difficult in my shop, most of the students have some severe form of ADD or ADHD which creates a lot of noise and stops the learning process in its tracks. If I say anything to them to try and stop them they just yell back and get angry. No one in my shop takes learning seriously, and no one is able to control their outbursts. Now the whole problem isn’t just my peers. It’s my teacher and what he was handed. They put him in this position with nothing to go on, he is just expected to have work for us and have detailed lesson plans. We learn very little and we are getting the short end of the stick in all ways. Anyone not like their shop? Give me a real reason. We end up just playing Age Of Empires while Mr. Mcneil is forced to write lessons for this god-forsaken electronics program.

Well now that I am home and back to being happy with the situation I am in, lets talk. Today was an interesting day after school. Megan came over and we watched Pirates of the Caribbean which we fell asleep during. I rarely fall asleep and I hated it. I mean, I loved falling asleep next to Megan, but the feeling you get when you wake up from sleeping during the day is so god-awful. I couldn’t stand how I felt, eating wasn’t even the same! Other than that my day went well, Me and Megan talked a lot after the movie and I really enjoy talking with her. She has a lot of interesting things to say I just wish she would talk more.

That’s all I have for today! Check out my news blog at Eventful World

Panera Bread, Guitar hero dread…

Wednesday, January 9, 2008 - 3 Responses

Today was just another normal day in shop other than the fact that I actually learned a lot today. Which is making me look forward to more learning in shop. Knowing my trade feels good. Also SARORN FINISHED “An Abundance of Katherine’s”… Damn him. After school today Megan went to Sesame street and took a picture of it for a contest on FOBR a fall out boy forum. After that she came over along with Garrette and we headed off to Panera Bread for the second time this week. Although this time I had no money and ate nothing, we came home right after Megan and Garrette finished eating and I got a chance to eat as we walked in on my parents having supper. I had some chicken and mashed potatoes and corn and all that. It was ok, but I am not a fan of chicken dinners. I like turkey better and YES, there is a difference. After eating me Megan and Garrette spent time in my room playing guitar hero, putting on shirts the wrong way. I’m a really bad entertainer so Megan got bored fast and I just didn’t know what to do. No matter what though she still says she has a good time. I am pretty positive she doesn’t though. Either way It was an okay day and I am hoping for a better one tomorrow.

Talk to you guys later! Peace…

So I don’t bore a major audience of 4 people…

I will now be using this blog for my daily life stuff, and video blogs. My other blog Eventful World will cover more news related topics. Now continuing on to the MEAT of the story.

Today was just another long day in shop, I enjoyed it but there are way to many conservative views in my shop for my pleasure. Now for anyone who is lost, it means there are to many assholes in my shop. Which makes for a long, eventful day to say the least. I really don’t like the fact that this week I don’t see Megan for lunch. I kind of expect her to be at lunch on my shop week, then I realize that it’s just my shop friends. But in some respects it’s a good thing! I am developing friends that I really have not had since I have been with Megan. Not that she is stopping me, it’s just I have become friends with HER friends and not made many of my own. So I am glad I have at-least my shop friends to get closer to.

In addition to school I had Megan over today. We took a nice walk to wendy’s and she had some food, while I drank a soda. I wasn’t hungry and I don’t want to eat fast food anymore. There is a history of heart attacks in my family, and adding to the danger really doesn’t sound like a good idea.

Also I have been reading “An Abundance Of Katherine’s” as most of you know, and I have found about 5 printing errors or typo’s or I don’t know what. I emailed John Green the author about it but I have not gotten a response yet. I have a first edition copy which makes me happy because I have on of the actual first set of books that were printed! That’s amazing!

I cannot think of anything else to say so, I will talk to you guys tomorrow!

Switch Blade, Switch Grass?

Monday, January 7, 2008 - 2 Responses

Starting out with today’s events, I went to school and as it was shop week, so I didn’t really care what was going on. But onto more exciting news, in shop we were given 1gb USB flash drives which was a pretty sweet deal, and I think we can keep them! I will always take free computer related stuff. In addtion to school I chilled with Garrette. We first played a lot of guitar hero and Garrette got really really good. Within about 15 minutes of playing it he was playing medium songs with pretty much no problem. After a good hour of playing guitar hero we decided to head up to Panera Bread. Now this was my first time eating there, but I do have to admit it was amazing food, yet the atmosphere was a bit to loud. I can’t complain though, I liked the bagel I had so much I bought an extra for breakfast tomorrow. The rest of my day will be taken by blogging, baths and reading “An Abundance Of Katherine’s”. I am excited.

Since I made a blog about the environment this week I have decided to talk about something that was covered on NPR recently. As I said in the previous post Chevy has many cars running on E85 ethanol which is a BIO-Fuel traditionally made from corn. Since corn is a major food crop, the industry has been trying to find a non food crop that grows with little care and abundantly. Apparently they have come across the perfect crop, Switchgrass. Switchgrass is a tall yellow-ish grass that is is a warm season grass and is one of the dominant species of the central North American Tallgrass Prairie. (Citation: Wikipedia: Switchgrass). This grass contains cellulose which is the building blocks of ethanol. According to a one man’s study which was brocasted on NPR today, for every 1 gallon of gas used to create Switchgrass ethanol 5 gallons of Switchgrass ethanol can be created, so the Net Energy Yeild is very high. This shows that Switchgrass is a very pratical way to start making E85 ethanol Bio-Fuels without cutting our corn crop production. Since E85 ethanol gas stations are starting to become more abundant this find is certainly helpful to motorists.

I know I have not V-Blogged in a while but it seems I can get my ideas out much more efficently and with a lot less jokes. I mean I love being funny, but I think in the long run people are actaully interested in some intresting articles. If you guys think other wise let me know!, and I will tell my stories in video blog form and writing so you can see and hear it! I of course will still be doing some v-blogs just not as much and not as often.

Thanks for reading, Andrew.

An abundance of fatigue…

Sunday, January 6, 2008 - 2 Responses

I woke up this morning at 8:00 and got ready to go to Borders with my mom and Megan. FYI Borders is the SHIT of bookstores, a very very small selection and NO STARBUCKS… which made Megan possibly the most tired I have ever seen her. The only reason I decided to bring Megan, is so she could have starbucks… I’m so good at this dating game huh? Moving on, I bought “An Abundance Of Katherine’s” by John Green today like I said I wanted to get in the last post. I haven’t started reading it but just reading the summary has made me want to read it A LOT more. I am almost hoping that we get a bookreport in English so I can actaully have an interest in what I am writing about. Which will probably help the grade of the paper.

Now onto something I would like to talk about. The political situation in Pakistan. As some of you might know, Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on December 28th 2007. She was once the Prime Minister in Pakistan and was running in the Democratic elections schedualed for Janurary 8th 2008. In the wake of her death the current Millitant government led by Pervez Musharraf has postponed the elections which is leaving the country in a very poor politcal situation. It almost seems as if democratic hope for Pakistan has fallen which I hope is not true, As Bhutto’s family has strived for democratic process and I think it needs to be followed through. As Bhutto has been assassinated her son has been chose to replace her in the Pakistan People’s Party of which Bhutto was the leader. Hoeefully the elections will still go on and the democratic process will be preserved.

In addition to the political situation in Pakistan I have recently been listening to a lot of NPR. NPR is a news radio station that is very interesting. It keeps my attention enough so I can be informed while I am driving or not able to give my 100% attention. If you want to check out the station its 90.9 in and around Lowell, Massachusetts and on the web at NPR

If anyone was interested in Brotherhood 2.0 the brothers have created a site called Nerdfighters. It’s a social network of nerdfighters and I will be posting my blog on there and here from now on.
